THE ROLE OF THE AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE (HISTORY AND MODERNITY)

The article analyzes the role of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in the development of science. The history of the Academy is divided into 3 stages of development: 1920-1945, 1945-1991, 1993 until today, and its impact on the development of science is investigated at each stage. The Academy became the main center of fundamental research in Azerbaijan in 1945 after the establishment of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. This period is characterized by significant steps aimed at comprehensive development of Azerbaijani science. With the return to power of Heydar Aliyev in 1993, attention to the development of science in the republic increased significantly, and the reputation of scientists strengthened. Our scientists contributed to native science with their discoveries and gained a reputation outside of Azerbaijan.
