The first photograph of a giant black hole in the Milky Way Galaxy has been taken
For the first time, a giant black hole in the middle of our galaxy was photographed. This black hole, called Sagittarius A *, has a mass about 4 million times that of the Sun.
In the photo, we can see the dark area where the black hole is located and the circular light emitted by high-temperature gases moving around it by gravity. The diameter of this ring we see in the photo is about 60 million kilometres.
Fortunately, this black hole is 26,000 light-years from Earth. That is, it is impossible for it to reach us and pose a threat.
